In this section, I share what I am up to, pictures of the week, what is new in AI and crypto, and more.

On August 3, Joanne and I drove to Tamaqua, PA. Tamaqua is a vibrant town with history dating back to a pioneer founding in 1799. The town had its heyday as a coal and railroad center and it played a role in helping to fuel America’s Industrial Revolution. Joanne was born and raised there. The purpose of our visit was to attend a birthday party for her brother, Jimmy. Jimmy turned 70 but is mentally challenged.

Jimmy with his foster mother, Adrienne Vasiliou. We are all blessed with the loving care she provides to Jimmy.
Dr. Joe Dobrosky, Jimmy’s brother, and Joanne, his sister.
85 people attended the party. Some were lifetime acquaintances and some were fellow mentally challenged men and women who are under the care of the state’s CARE program for mentally challenged persons in the area.
The DJ played a lot of great songs and a number of the attendees were dancing all evening.
We stayed at a Marriott Residence Inn in Hazelton, PA before driving back to CT. I went out for a walk Sunday morning and saw a full rainbow.

Epi-One continues to attract new investors, now 170. The company has raised $827,875. We all want to see the company vision of “Accurate, Affordable, and Early Cancer Detection”.

The Digital Democracy Project‘s free civic engagement platform—incorporating Voatz’s mobile voting app with its online accountability system—already allows mobile voters to cast ballots on pending Florida and U.S. legislation, report results to their legislators, and track legislative accountability to voters. Digital Democracy Project knows how to connect voters to the process. It is currently only available to Florida registered voters. I see this as the future of voting: secure, convenient, private, and verifiable.

The Digital Democracy Project is a 501 (c)3 non-profit. I am a supporter.
