I want to thank all of my friends and family who have read the early drafts of Robot Attitude: How Robots and Artificial Intelligence Will Make Our Lives Better and given me feedback, edits, suggestions, etc. A special thanks to the six who provided beautiful blurbs. Here is the first one…

“John Patrick adds to the Attitude series with an installment I’ve been anxiously awaiting! Robot Attitude is our guidebook to the future in numerous fields. John zeroes in on what we need to know today to understand technology’s promises for tomorrow.”

Skip Prichard, President & CEO, OCLC, Inc., WSJ bestselling author of The Book of Mistakes: 9 Secrets to Creating a Successful Future

The book is getting very close. In this post, I will give you an update on the progress and remaining steps.

After another week of incorporating most all of reviewer suggestions. Here are some of the things I did as a direct result of their input:

  1. Added a summary section to ten chapters which did not have one.
  2. Made sure there was a transition from each section and chapter to the next.
  3. Beefed up the Privacy and Fake News sections.
  4. Beefed up the AI in Banking chapter.
  5. Added quite a few references. There are now more than 300 references and 400+ citations. I want the book to offer plenty for those who want to dive deeper.
  6. The book has grown from 54,500 words to 58,700 pages since the first draft I sent to reviewers on June 15. It is now just shy of the size of Health Attitude: Unraveling and Solving the Complexities of Healthcare which is the largest of the Attitude Series.

During this weekend I will complete reading and editing the book word by word from the beginning. The back cover with blurbs will go to Irina in Romania who has done all of my book designs. By the end of the week the manuscript will go to ebookpbook for interior editing of page titles, fonts, etc. That takes about 15 days. When it comes back to me, I will create the Index with Textract software and then send the revised cover thickness to Irina and the final files back to ebookpbook. They will create the go live print and Kindle versions in about a week. Bottom line, looks like my August target will be achieved.
